Chair and Department of Cultural Studies

Cultural studies is a relatively young branch of the social sciences and humanities in Slovenia. It allows students to devote their attention to the study of culture through knowledge of genres or categories and the acquisition of epistemological skills that provide an analytical and interpretive approach to what occurs in culture. Due to its theoretical, analytical and interpretive orientation, the course of study is highly specialized beginning with the first year. Students are educated to be employable in different media positions and in numerous of cultural organisations.
